Prince William gifts girlfriend Kate 'fake' diamond earrings for Christmas

British royal Prince William has bought a rather cheeky Christmas gift for his girlfriend Kate Middleton - a pair of fake diamond earrings.

The mega-rich royal picked up the bling during a last-minute shopping trip.

William, who was assisted by a female friend, a personal shopper and his protection officers, spent more than an hour at Selfridges on London's Oxford Street.

The 25-year-old boycotted exclusive jewellery and chose the white gold earrings with cubic zirconia stones by British designer Dinny Hall instead.

Had the earrings been set with real diamonds, they would have cost 10,000 pounds. But the prince had to shell out just 410 pounds for the fake diamond piece.

Diamond of your loved one

Did you know that you could create a synthetic diamond ( not CZ ) from the ashes of the one you love or from the strand of the hair of a living person ? Well, its possible. Theres a company called as LIfe Gem which does this!. The basic ideology of the company is to be in touch with your loved ones and always remember them. When you have a ring worn on your finger with a diamond which is made from the hair or ashes of your loved ones it can be memorable.

Some people think its a wonderful idea and some think its crazy. Well I fall into the latter part. For me a diamond is a diamond. Now from seeing the diamond you cant see any part of it in real, which we can resemble to the person`s carbon it is made from. You spend around $20000 for a carat of diamond and that too which is synthetic and not natural. Nature has its own way of producing diamonds. Millions of years of heat, pressure and right conditions make a diamond a diamond. We try to replicate the conditions and make it within 24 weeks. Ashes that are burnt are burnt. Loved ones will always be there in the heart and memory. Cherish those memories ! This is life. Well all have their individual opinions and I dont want to hurt anyone. This is my opinon. Feel free to express your opinions and feed back.

India gold demand low, discounts continue!

Gold prices are creeping up slowly, and in india the consumers still cant digest the high gold prices but its just a matter of time that everyone has to accept that gold is not likely to come down soon..

MUMBAI (Reuters) - India's gold market saw little demand for the yellow metal on Tuesday that kept local prices discounted by around 100 rupees per 10 grams over what banks and trade houses quoted, dealers said.

"There is no demand and gold is being recycled," said Chanda Venkatesh, proprietor of Chanda Anjaiah Parameshwar, a large bullion wholesale company in Hyderabad.

Venkatesh said he was not sourcing gold from the banks which comprises fresh imports and is therefore priced in dollars, as local sellers are "continuously selling."
